Baptism
Lutherans celebrate two sacraments - Baptism and Holy Communion. Baptism is the first one we celebrate as Christians, whether we are infants cradled by our parents or adults looking to affirm or reaffirm our faith.
When presenting children for Holy Baptism, parents and sponsors promise to bring the children to church; teach them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments; and place the scripture in their hands.
Baptisms are celebrated during non-communion worship services and at Easter Vigil (the Saturday before Easter).
