Reverend Rhodes Woolly Rhodes Woolly
Senior Pastor

Pastor Rhodes has spent 14 of the last 15 years in Virginia, but in some ways coming to North Carolina "feels like coming home." He explains: "Virginia could not have been a better home for us. But the hospitality, passion, and faithfulness I've experienced at St John's have been overwhelming. Everything I look for in a 'home' is right here." It helps that Pastor Rhodes grew up only two hours away, in Columbia, which brings him that much closer to family. Krista, too, whose parents live outside of Clemson. They have three children: Carter, Matthew, and Anna Grace. He attended Lenoir-Rhyne College, the University of South Carolina (masters in International Studies) and, after work with a lobbying group in Washington, accepted the call to seminary. "Krista was negotiating a job in Washington, but, well, God started to stir the pot." She put the job on hold, they got married, and, six weeks later, Rhodes began summer Greek. "Quite a honeymoon, huh?" The Woollys share a passion for people, friends, discipleship, the water, and anything outdoors.

Rob also serves the North Carolina Synod of the ELCA on the Fall Convocation, Lay Rostered, and Candidacy Task Forces, and the Worship Task Force.
