Ready to take the next step in faith?
Try the Disciple Bible Study
“I’d like to know more about the Bible.”
"I’ve heard the word, but I’m not sure what it means to be a disciple.”
“How did the Bible come together? How was the world created? Is the God of the Old Testament different from the God of the New Testament? What difference does it make?”
“My faith is at a stand-still. I’m ready to take the next step … but how?”
If any of those questions are your questions, then you might be ready for the Disciple Bible Study series -- an intensive 34 week, two hours a week study of Scripture that just might change your life.
34 weeks? Two hours a week? You must be crazy! Well, maybe …….
But if you’re wrestling with questions of faith and/or you’re trying to discover what God has in store for you, then it makes sense to commit yourself to an intensive study of Scripture. After all, God’s word is “a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105), and Paul begs Christians to allow the “Word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16). What better way than through an intentional, disciplined study of Scripture.
The Disciple Bible Study is a perfect complement for those who have completed The Alpha Course and are ready for the next step. As one of the most highly-respected series in the church today, Disciple studies are limited to twelve persons. The first course (Disciple 1) is led by Pastor Rhodes. Future courses (Disciple 2, 3, and 4 for those who want to continue in their study) will be facilitated by some of St John's outstanding lay leaders/teachers.
Disciple 2 begins in September 2010. The group will meet on a day most convenient for the participants. Please note that the class size is limited to twelve persons. Additional groups will be formed in the future according to days and times most convenient to participants.
Interested? Contact the church office to register. For more information, speak with Pastor Rhodes or email him at rhodes@stjohns-salisbury.org.
